Osiyo (Oh-see-yo)(meaning hello), everyone. My name is Darren, and I began my journey into software engineering(coding) in 2021, one week before my 55th born day. I have long recognized that coding is the future, and learning is a lifelong process, so even at my age, why not learn a valuable skill that I can teach my grandchildren? I hail from the city of brotherly love and sisterly affection, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am excited to begin my introduction to my major coursework and get closer to a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering. I have been employed at the Comcast Corporation for twenty years as a supply chain rep, and I anticipate that upon graduation, elevating within the company.
I am not a newbie to the tech world; I have always dabbled, whether it was putting together my desktop computer, motherboards, processors, and hard drives. To utilize software like the Adobe Suite of professional applications like Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and After Effects, for which I have received a professional certificate from Moore College of Art and Design. This class will build a strong foundation from which I can develop into a more than capable Software Engineer.
